A welcoming meeting space at Hearthway

About Hearthway

A Place Built for
Honest Conversations

We started Hearthway because families going through change often need a quiet, structured place to think — not a waiting room, not a courtroom, but a table. We built one.

Our Story

How Hearthway Came to Be

Hearthway grew from a simple observation: many families arriving at significant household decisions felt unprepared — not because they lacked intelligence or goodwill, but because no one had ever walked them through the shape of the process. They had questions, but nowhere gentle to ask them.

We opened our first sessions in Chiang Mai in 2019, offering a single half-day workshop for families navigating shared arrangements. The response was steady and honest. People did not need to be fixed; they needed a clear table and enough time. We have kept that philosophy at the centre of everything since.

Today, Hearthway offers three distinct offerings — from a focused conversation session to a full multi-week programme — all designed around the same principle: that a family which understands its own situation clearly, and can talk about it calmly, is far better placed to make decisions that hold up over time.

We are not lawyers, counsellors, or financial advisers. We are organisers and educators. Our materials are plain, our sessions are unhurried, and our role is to help each household leave with more clarity than they arrived with.

Our Mission

What We Are Here to Do

To give families a clear, accessible, and non-pressured place to organise their thinking, develop communication skills, and prepare for the practical steps that come with household change.

Listen Before Advising

We do not arrive with a script. Every session makes room for the real questions each family is sitting with.

Clarity Over Complexity

Our materials are written to be understood, not to impress. Plain language, clear structure, no jargon.

Mutual Respect

We work with both parties in a household, when they choose to attend together, without taking sides or directing outcomes.

Unhurried Pace

Change takes time. We do not push families toward decisions. We help them feel ready when the time comes.

Discretion Always

What families share in our sessions stays within those sessions. We take confidentiality seriously and build our practices around it.

Informed Next Steps

When families are ready to consult professionals, they leave Hearthway with clearer questions and a calmer starting point.

How We Work

Our Standards and Approach

Personal Data Protection

We collect only what we need to confirm bookings and send session materials. No details are shared without explicit consent.

Facilitator Preparation

Every Hearthway facilitator reviews session materials and participant context before each group to ensure consistency and care.

Reviewed Content

Workbook prompts and programme materials are reviewed annually to reflect current, accurate information relevant to Thailand.

Non-Clinical Boundaries

Facilitators are trained to recognise when a participant may need professional support and to point them gently in the right direction.

Transparent Pricing

All fees are stated upfront in Thai Baht. There are no hidden costs, add-ons, or pressure to upgrade at any stage.

Participant Feedback

We gather written feedback after every session and use it directly to shape future programmes — not just for reporting purposes.

Family Transition Education in Chiang Mai

Hearthway operates from Huay Kaew Road in Su Thep, one of Chiang Mai's more settled residential areas. We work primarily with English-speaking families — both expatriate and Thai — who are preparing for household changes that involve property, children, finances, or shared living arrangements.

Our work sits entirely within the non-regulated, educational space. We do not draft documents, file paperwork, or represent any party. What we do is help families arrive at their own clarity: understanding the shape of common processes, learning to communicate without escalating, and building the kind of organised thinking that makes conversations with solicitors, mediators, or financial planners far more productive.

Thailand's family law context is particular, and many international families living in Chiang Mai find it especially useful to have a plain-language overview of how household transitions are typically structured here before engaging any professional services. Our Extended Skills Programme is designed precisely for that purpose.

Workshops Built Around the Table

The name Hearthway was chosen deliberately. A hearth is where people gather without ceremony — not to perform, but to be present. Our workshops carry that spirit. Sessions are small and unhurried, with space for questions that do not have neat answers and decisions that are still being formed.

We believe that most families navigating change are doing so in good faith, even when the circumstances are stressful. Our role is not to speed the process or judge the outcome — it is to make the table feel safe enough to sit at for long enough to think clearly.

If you are in Chiang Mai and wondering whether a workshop, workbook, or programme might help your household, we would be glad to have a short conversation about what you are facing. There is no commitment in reaching out.

Come and Have a Look

There is no commitment in asking a question. If you are curious about what Hearthway offers, send us a short message and we will get back to you within a working day.
